BELANGRIKE KWESSIES ONDER SOEKLIG BY RPO NOORDWES KONGRES
Die RPO Noordwes het sy jaarlikse kongres op 28 Mei 2024 in Lichtenburg gehou.
Mnre Nico Kilian en Danie de Villiers is albei onbestrede herkies as voorsitter en ondervoorsitter van die NWRPO.
Tydens die kongres is belangrike bedryfsaspekte aangebied en bespreek. Kongresgangers het aktief aan die kongres deelgeneem en het van die geleentheid gebruik gemaak om vrae te vra en hul bekommernisse te lig oor sekere aspekte, soos die handelsmerk van diere in kommunale gebiede, naspeurbaarheid en dieregesondheid – veral bek-en-klouseer en die beskerming van die Suid-Afrikaanse grense .
Kongressprekers het ingesluit:
- Pieter Kleingeld van NWK met die tema “Kom ons praat “aanlyn” – nuwe tegnologie in beesboerdery – hommeltuie.
- Kobus Bester van die LRF met die tema “Wat die rooivleisprodusent van die RPO verwag”.
- Dr Frikkie Maré van die Nasionale RPO met die tema “Rooivleis in perspektief”.
- Brent McNamara van die Oos-Kaapse RPO met die tema “Naspeurbaarheidsoplossing”.

IMPORTANT ISSUES DISCUSSED AT NORTH WEST RPO CONGRESS
The North West RPO held its annual congress on 28 May 2024 in Lichtenburg. Nico Kilian and Danie de Villiers were both re-elected uncontested as chairman and vice chairman of the NWRPO.
During the congress, important industry aspects were presented and discussed. Attendees were actively participating in the congress and made use of the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns on certain aspects like branding of animals in communal areas, traceability and animal health – especially food and mouth disease and the protection of the South African borders.
Congress presenters included:
- Pieter Kleingeld from NWK with the theme “Let’s talk “online” – new technology in cattle farming – drones.
- Kobus Bester of the LRF with theme “What the red meat producer expects from the RPO”.
- Dr Frikkie Maré of the National RPO with the theme “Red meat in perspective”.
- Brent McNamara from the Eastern Cape RPO with the theme “Traceability solutions”.
