BRITTANJE GAAN VERBOD OP LEWENDIGE UITVOERE PLAAS
Politici in Brittanje het dieselfde weg as hul Australiese eweknieë gevolg en gestem dat daar ‘n verbod op die uitvoer van lewendige diere geplaas word.
Die parlement in Londen het onlangs ten gunste van ‘n wet gestem wat die uitvoer van vee vir slagdoeleindes, asook die vetvoer van diere vir slagdoeleindes verbied.
Die Australiese regering het aangekondig dat lewendige uitvoere per see van Mei 2028 verbode sal wees ná ‘n reeks van rampspoedige hoofopskrifte waarby skepe wat vee vervoer, betrokke was. Die land se vloot veeskepe tel onder die oudstes in handelsversending, met ongeveer 60% van die vloot wat ouer as 30 jaar is.

UK TO BAN EXPORT OF LIVESTOCK FOR SLAUGHTER
UK politicians have followed in the path of their Australian counterparts in voting for a live animal export ban.
Parliament in London recently voted in favour of a bill banning the export of livestock for slaughter and fattening for slaughter.
The Australian government announced it will ban the live export of sheep by sea from May 2028 following a series of disastrous headlines involving livestock carriers. The livestock carrier fleet is among the oldest in merchant shipping with around 60% of the fleet more than 30 years old.
