At the helm of the Red Meat Industry Forum for 2015

AT THE HELM OF THE RED MEAT INDUSTRY FORUM FOR 2015

The most important challenge for the incoming Red Meat Industry Forum Office Bearers is to foster confidence amongst all stakeholders to participate in the growth and expansion of the red meat industry.

The Red Meat Industry Forum is pleased to announce the appointment of the new office bearers effective November 12, 2014 as elected at the Forum’s Annual General Meeting. The appointments signal continuity as Dave Ford will remain as Chairman to provide oversight and guidance to the new management committee:

  • Tim Davidson (National Federation of Meat Traders representative) elected as Vice-Chairman;
  • Gerhard Schutte (Red Meat Producers Organization Small Stock representative); and
  • Aggrey Mahanjana (National Emergent Red Meat Producers Organization representative).

The management committee acknowledge accountability and authority to provide strategic direction for sustained development and maintaining a viable red meat industry. The management committee will simultaneously fulfil the roll of compliance committee for the red meat industry.

Georg Southey (Association of Meat Importers and Exporters representative), Andrew Cocks (South African Meat Processors Association representative) and Barry Swart (independent financial advisor to the red meat industry) were unequivocally re- elected as levy committee to the red meat industry.

The Red Meat Industry Forum would like to thank the outgoing office bearers that helped steer the growth and successes achieved over the past year and that will stand the Forum in good stead in the future and would like to extend best wishes to the incoming team and look forward to seeing continued progress during their time in office.
