Beesvleisinvoere het 1 921 ton vir Mei 2024 beloop wat ‘n toename van 3,5 % verteenwoordig as dit met Mei 2023 vergelyk word, volgens Agri Inspec.

 

Die vry-aan-boord-prys vir Mei 2024 was R49,79 p/kg. Dit verteenwoordig ‘n styging van 6 % in prys per kg as dit vergelyk word met Mei 2024. Die meeste invoere was van Namibië met 340 ton.

 

Lewendige speenkalf-invoere vir Mei 2024 het 26 637 eenhede beloop; ‘n verhoging van 9% as dit vergelyk word met Mei 2023. Die prys was R 7 053.00 per eenheid, wat 0.45% hoër is as tydens Mei 2023.

 

Skaapvleisinvoere vir Mei 2024 het 349 ton beloop. Dit verteenwoordig ‘n styging van 138% as dit vergelyk word met Mei 2023 se pryse. Die vry-aan-boord-prys was R29 11 p/kg, wat 10% laer is as die Mei 2023-prys. Die meeste invoere was van Australië (205 ton).

 

Invoere van lewendige skape het in Mei 2024 altesaam 94 591 eenhede beloop. Dit verteenwoordig ‘n styging van 38% in vergelyking met Mei 2023. Die prys was R1 112,12 per eenheid; wat 6,5% laer is as die Mei 2023-prys per kilogram. Namibië was die grootste uitvoerder na Suid-Afrika met 94 575 eenhede.

IMPORTS SLIGHTLY HIGHER

Bovine meat imports for May 2024 amounted to 1 921 tons, representing an increase of 3.5 % if compared to May 2023, according to Agri Inspec.

 

The free-on-board price for May 2024 was R49.79 p/kg. This represents an increase of 6 % in price per kg if compared to May 2024. The major imports originated from Namibia with 340 tons.

 

Live weaner imports for May 2024 amounted to 26 637 units; an increase of 9% if compared to May 2023. The price was R7 053.00 per unit, which is 0.45% higher than May 2023.

 

Sheep meat imports for May 2024 amounted to 349 tons. This represents an increase of 138% if compared to May 2023. The free-on-board price was R29.11 p/kg, which is 10% lower than the May 2023 price. The major imports originated from Australia (205 tons).

 

Live sheep imports for May 2024 amounted to 94 591 units. This represents an increase of 38% if compared to May 2023.The price was R1 112.12 per unit; which is 6.5% lower than the May 2023 price per kilogram. Namibia was the major exporter to South Africa with 94 575 units.
