Nuwe navorsing van Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) het getoon dat metropolitaanse Australiërs wat kundig is oor die rooivleisbedryf, waarskynlik meer rooivleis sal eet as ander mense.

 

Die jongste navorsing oor gemeenskapsentiment het 1 501 Australiërs tussen 18 en 64 jaar ondersoek wat in die vyf hoofstede van Australië woon. Dit word elke jaar gedoen om MLA se beleggings in gemeenskapskommunikasie en bemarking in te lig sodat beter begrip van rooivleisproduksie en voedingsvoordele vir alledaagse Australiërs bevorder word.

 

Volgens die groepbestuurder van gemeenskapskommunikasie en -geleenthede by MLA, Samantha Jamieson, dui die navorsing op ‘n positiewe persepsie van die Australiese bees- en lamsvleisbedrywe deur metrogemeenskapslede.

 

“Gemeenskappersepsies van die bedryf bly bestendig met 63% wat ‘n positiewe persepsie van die beesvleisbedryf het en 60% met ‘n soortgelyke persepsie van die lambedryf,” het Jamieson gesê.

 

“’n Verdere 27% tot 29% het geen bekommernisse nie, met die oorblywende 16% tot 18% wat óf nie weet nie óf ‘n mate van kommer het, die laagste vlak oor die afgelope drie jaar, en soortgelyk aan vlakke oor die afgelope dekade.

 

Die meeste Australiërs beskou die rooivleisbedryf as noodsaaklik vir die Australiese ekonomie en werkskepping, veral in streeksgebiede. Altesaam 71% van diegene wat ondervra is, het ook vertroue in Australiese bees- en lamsvleisprodusente om veilige, voedsame en volhoubare voedsel te verskaf.

 

“Byna twee derdes van Australiërs sê ook dat hulle die rooivleisbedryf vertrou om te doen wat reg is, en boere word byna net soveel vertrou as ingenieurs, onderwysers en wetenskaplikes.

 

“Die navorsing demonstreer Australiërs se positiewe persepsies en begrip van die belangrike rol wat rooivleisprodusente speel om die nasie te voed.”

WHY PEOPLE WHO KNOW MORE ABOUT RED MEAT ARE EATING MORE OF IT

New research from Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) has shown metropolitan Australians who are knowledgeable about the red meat industry are likely to be eating more red meat.

 

The latest community sentiment research surveyed 1 501 Australians aged 18 to 64 who reside in the five main capital cities in Australia. It is conducted each year to inform MLA’s investments in community communication and marketing to drive better understanding of red meat production and nutritional benefits for everyday Australians.

 

According to group manager – community communications and events at MLA, Samantha Jamieson, the research indicates a positive perception of the Australian beef and lamb industries by metro community members.

 

“Community perceptions of the industry remain steady with 63% having a positive perception of the beef industry and 60% having a similar perception of the lamb industry,” Jamieson said.

 

“A further 27% to 29% have no concerns, with the remaining 16% to 18% either not knowing or having some level of concern, the lowest level over the past three years, and similar to levels over the past decade.

 

“Notably, most Australians see the red meat industry as vital to the Australian economy and job creation, especially in regional areas. 71% of those surveyed also have confidence in Australian beef and lamb producers to provide safe, nutritious and sustainable food​.

 

“Nearly two-thirds of Australians also say that they trust the red meat industry to do what is right, and farmers are trusted nearly as much as engineers, teachers and scientists.

“The research demonstrates Australians’ positive perceptions and understanding about the important role red meat producers play in feeding the nation.”
