The farmer provided all the necessary information and details required to search for the suspects. Agri Eastern Cape could track down the vehicle involved in the stock theft using their CCTV and LPR network.
The Agri Ops controller on duty relayed the information back to the farmer and SAPS which allowed SAPS to intercept the vehicle near Queenstown. SAPS and the units of the area involved such as the stock theft unit, K9 unit and flying squad could box the suspects in before fleeing.
A total of 26 sheep were recovered in the vehicle, four suspects were arrested, and SAPS impounded the vehicle used. The vehicle was a Toyota Quantum which seats were removed, and it has been involved in many stock theft operations previously. Thanks to the Agri Eastern Cape Coordination Centre, these criminals were brought to justice.
